HARRISON, N.J. - NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League has announced a trade with the Houston Dash. Gotham FC traded defender Caprice Dydasco for $120,000 in base allocation money from the Dash. The deal could be worth up to $150,000 for Gotham, earning another $10,000 for each postseason game Dydasco plays in for Houston.

Dydasco was the 2021 NWSL Defender of the Year and NWSL’s Best XI, making 24 starts for Gotham FC and winning over 60 percent of her tackles. Dydasco also posted a goal, five assists, 49 clearances and 49 interceptions, the most of any defender in the league. The Honolulu, Hawaii native earned Team of the Month honors five times during the regular season, most of any players that year.

“Caprice is an extremely talented player and an even better person,” said General Manager Yael Averbuch West. “She gave everything she had to this team and played a massive role in the transformation of our club. We are so thankful for her contributions and wish her nothing but success in Houston.”

Dydasco appeared in 59 regular season games and 71 games overall for Gotham FC.

Gotham FC’s next home match takes place on August 20 at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania. The club will kick off against the Orlando Pride at 7:00 p.m. EST. Tickets can be purchased at GothamFC.com.
