HARRISON, NJ (January 13, 2023) - NJ/NY Gotham FC announced today the re-signing of midfielder Delanie Sheehan to a two-year deal.

“I’m really grateful for the opportunity to continue to develop as a pro with Gotham FC,” said Sheehan. “I have loved being a part of this team, club, and community these past few years and am looking forward to what’s in store for us.”

The 24-year-old was selected by the club with the 33rd overall pick in the 2021 NWSL Draft. In her young career with the club, Sheehan has appeared in 16 matches. In 2021, Sheehan was loaned to Paris FC in the Division I Arkema and received valuable experience in the league.

A native of Brentwood, California, Sheehan is a 2021 graduate of UCLA. While playing for UCLA from 2017-2021 she recorded 15 goals and 18 assists in 86 matches. As a senior, Sheehan earned Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year and First Team All-Pac-12 honors. She was also named as a semifinalist for the 2020-21 Mac Hermann Trophy.

Sheehan has also made an impact at the international level. She has represented the U.S. at the U-18, U-19, and U-20 levels and was an alternate for the 2018 U-20 Women’s World Cup.

“Delanie is a player we drafted and believe in, so we’re very happy to have her under contract and to see her progress under the guidance of our new coaching staff,” said GM and Head of Soccer Operations Yael Averbuch West.
