BIOGRAPHY

PROFESSIONAL

2022: Out on maternity leave. 2021: Long started all 24 matches she appeared in, scoring one goal and posting a 91% passing. She was traded to NJ/NY Gotham FC in April 2021. 2020: Long helped lead OL Reign to a fourth-place finish in the league and another semifinal playoff berth. 2019: She finished fifth in the NWSL in passing (1,059). She also totaled two assists in 15 appearances for the 2019 season with OL Reign. 2018: Long was traded to OL Reign FC in January 2018. During this season she scored three goals, and had one assist in her 20 appearances. She helped OL Reign clinch the 2018 NWSL semifinal playoff berth. 2017: Long scored two goals and had one assist in her 23 appearances. She helped Portland Thorns to a second-place finish for the NWSL title. 2016: She scored six goals and made two assists in 16 appearances. She led the Thorns to the regular season title and playoff berth. Long was named on NWSL Best XI for her second year. 2015: Long scored 10 goals and made four assists in 20 appearances. She was named to the NWSL Best XI, was the Portland Thorns MVP and Golden Boot winner. She also became the first Portland Thorns player to reach double-digit goals (19) and assists (10). She surpassed 5,000 career minutes during this season. 2014: In her 22 regular season appearances, Long scored nine goals, and made three assists. She was named on NWSL Second XI, was 4-for-4 on penalty kicks, and tallied a match-winning assist to secure a spot in the 2014 NWSL Playoffs. 2013: Long signed with Portland Thorns in January 2013 of the newly formed NWSL. She scored three goals and made an equal number of assists. She also scored a match-winning goal in the NWSL semifinals. 2012: Having signed with the New York Fury in WPSL Elite in 2012, Long guided the club to the playoff semifinals. 2011-2012: Long joined Paris Saint-Germain of the Division 1 Feminine on a six-month contract from Oct. 2011-March 2012. She scored eight goals in 16 appearances across all matches for PSG. 2011: Long was traded to Sky Blue FC, making 18 appearances. 2009-2010: After being drafted as the 7th overall pick in the WPS Draft by Washington Freedom, Long scored two goals in 19 appearances her rookie season. During her second season she scored two goals in 22 appearances.

COLLEGE

Long played for Penn State University from 2005-06 and University of North Carolina from 2007-08. During her freshman year at Penn State, she appeared in 46 games, scoring 10 goals with 10 assists. Long was named to the first-team All-Big Ten selection and was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association first-team All-Mid-Atlantic Region team. After transferring to University of North Carolina in 2007, Long appeared in all 24 games during her first season there. She scored five goals and was named to Soccer America, Soccer Buzz and Top Drawer Soccer National Teams of the Week. She was also on the watchlist for the Hermann Trophy this year. During her senior year she was a 2008 NCAA Tournament Champion.

INTERNATIONAL

2019: Long made appearances in both April 2019 friendlies with USWNT. She was also named to the final roster for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, making this her first senior World Cup appearance. She scored two goals. 2018: Long was named to the provisional roster for the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Championship. She also made an appearance in Europe for a friendly match. 2017: Long scored three goals. 2016: As a member of the 2016 Olympic squad, Long started in three of the four matches played. She scored three goals. 2014: Long made her international debut with USWNT. She scored her first two international goals. 2010: Long earned her first call up to the USWNT. 2006: Long represented the United States on the U-20 (three goals in 14 appearances), U-21 and U-23 national teams and was a member of the 2006 FIFA U-20 Women's World Championship team.
