March 2023, Womens' Empowerment Month: Nishuane Elementary School

Gotham FC staff members Julianna Collazo and Ellie Carlson were invited to speak at Nishuane Elementary School in Montclair, New Jersey as part of their Women’s History Month Assembly. The ages in the audience were grades Pre-K to 2nd grade. The Nishuane School is passionate about allowing students to pursue their dreams, something that aligns with our community priorities. Gotham FC staff members Julianna and Ellie, they were joined at the assembly by some other incredible women in our NJNY area: police women, EMT, Broadway singers, female scientists, and many more. By speaking with the Nishuane School, Gotham FC was able to inspire, engage, and develop alongside our communities.

March 2023, Rutgers University Internship and Career Fair:

Gotham FC staff members Andrea McDermott, Julianna Collazo, Ellie Carlson, and Miguel Zara participated in a career fair at Rutgers University, working with Rutgers Environmental Science and Kinesthesiology Programs. Students received Gotham FC branded items, learned about Gotham FC and our history, and explored through conversations the many different ways to get to where they want to go after college. Students connected with Gotham FC Staff about potential career pathways, the climb and progression of women's sports, post-graduate schooling options, professional sports work, and more. Gotham FC strives to have a presence at our colleges and universities, and we only hope we can continue to be involved and make a difference in our NJNY community.

August 2023, All Kids One Field: Freehold, NJ

Gotham FC and NJ Youth Soccer supported All Kids One Field's 5th Annual Soccer Community Night, which featured Gotham FC players Sabrina Flores, Nealy Martin, Mandy Haught, and Mandy Freeman. Gotham FC players led drills and stations as the teams rotated through practicing their skills.  This event brought together more than 500 participants from the central Jersey area for a free evening of soccer and community bonding.  All Kids One Field's mission is about bridging diverse groups within the community by promoting participation in community sports, local sporting events, and wellness activities.
