NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League has acquired two-time FIFA World Cup winners Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris from the Orlando Pride. As part of the trade, Orlando has acquired a 2022 NWSL Draft First Round selection, a 2023 NWSL Draft natural Third Round pick, and $50,000 in allocation money.

NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League announced today that midfielder Brianna Pinto has been traded to the North Carolina Courage in exchange for $125,000 in allocation money. The Durham native was selected third overall in the 2021 NWSL Draft by Gotham FC (then Sky Blue).

NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League has announced today that the rights to goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan have been traded to San Diego FC. As part of the trade, Gotham FC will acquire $130,000 in allocation money in addition to protection in the upcoming 2022 Expansion Draft presented by Ally.

Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League announced today that midfielder Allie Long has inked a new deal that will keep the Long Island native with the club through the 2023 season. Long was acquired via trade with OL Reign in April.

NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League announced today that Elizabeth Eddy is being sent on loan to the Newcastle United Jets. The Costa Mesa native will join the New South Wales club in the Australian A-League Women through March 28, 2022 after which time she is expected to rejoin Gotham FC for the 2022 season.

Caprice Dydasco Voted 2021 NWSL Defender of the Year

NJ/NY Gotham FC’s Caprice Dydasco was voted the 2021 National Women’s Soccer League Defender of the Year. She joins the elite company of four-time Defender of the Year Becky Sauerbrunn (2013-2015, 2019), Lauren “Lu” Barnes (2016), Abby Dahlkemper (2017), and Abby Erceg (2018) as recipients of the award.


NJ/NY Gotham FC defender Imani Dorsey was added to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for the two November friendlies in Australia and will join Gotham FC teammate Margaret “Midge” Purce in camp. The call up will provide additional depth to the outside back position and will bring the total roster to 23 players.

NJ/NY Gotham FC forward Margaret “Midge” Purce has been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster ahead of two international friendlies in Australia to close out 2021. Despite primarily playing as a defender for the USWNT, Purce was included in the list of forwards after turning in a series of impressive offensive performances with Gotham FC. 

NJ/NY Gotham FC will travel to SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Ill. to take on the Chicago Red Stars in the opening match of the 2021 NWSL playoffs on Sunday, November 7 at 3:00 p.m. EST.

In an action-packed final regular season game of the 2021 season, NJ/NY Gotham FC and Racing Louisville FC played to a 1-1 draw at Red Bull Arena on October 31, with goals from Carli Lloyd and CeCe Kizer. With the result, along with other results throughout the league, Gotham FC officially finishes the season at fifth place in the NWSL standings (35 points, 8-5-11) and will appear in the quarterfinal round of the NWSL playoffs next weekend for the first time since 2013.
