The forward returns to Gotham FC for the 2022 season on a one-year deal

NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League announced today that forward Ifeoma Onumonu will return to the club on a one-year contract. Onumonu was drafted 8th overall by the Boston Breakers out the University of California-Berkeley in the 2017 NWSL draft and was traded to Gotham FC (then Sky Blue FC) from OL Reign in January of 2020.

The forward signs two-year deal and will remain with the club through the 2023 season

NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League announced today that forward Margaret “Midge” Purce will return to the club on a two-year contract. Purce was drafted 9th overall by the Boston Breakers from Harvard University in the 2017 NWSL Draft and came to Gotham FC (then Sky Blue FC) via a trade with the Portland Thorns in 2020.

The defender signs two-year deal and will remain with the club through the 2023 season

NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League announced today that defender Imani Dorsey will return to the club on a two-year contract. Dorsey was drafted fifth overall by Gotham FC (then Sky Blue FC) out of Duke University in the 2018 NWSL Draft. During that season, she scored four goals and added one assist and went on to be named Rookie of the Year.

NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League announced today that veteran goalkeeper Michelle Betos has signed a two-year deal that will bring the New Yorker back to her hometown roots. Gotham FC acquired her rights in December after Racing Louisville FC waived her.

NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League announced today that the club has signed midfielder Taryn Torres out of the University of Virginia to a one-year contract with the option for an additional year. Torres was selected 23rd overall in the 2021 NWSL Draft by Gotham FC (then Sky Blue FC) and opted to return for a fifth year.

She was originally acquired by Gotham FC in a trade with the Washington Spirit in 2019.

Gotham FC Adds Three Players in 2022 NWSL Draft

Acquires defender Kelly Ann Livingstone, goalkeeper Hensley Hancuff, and midfielder Raleigh Loughman

NJ/NY Gotham FC started the 2022 NWSL Draft by executing a trade with OL Reign for the club’s first round draft pick. In exchange for the eighth overall pick, Gotham FC will receive $40,000 in allocation money in 2023 and OL Reign’s natural first round pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft.

2022 plans feature 132-match schedule, third annual Challenge Cup

The National Women’s Soccer League today announced the preliminary competition framework for its historic 10th anniversary campaign, featuring a 132-game schedule and the return of the third annual NWSL Challenge Cup.
