Gotham FC Clinches Spot in 2025 NWSL Playoffs

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Oct. 19, 2025) - For the third consecutive year, Gotham FC is headed to the postseason. The club officially clinched its place in the 2025 NWSL Playoffs, presented by Google Pixel, following tonight’s results.

This year’s qualification continues Gotham’s most successful stretch in club history. After reaching the playoffs only twice before (2013, 2021), Gotham has extended its longest playoff streak to three seasons.

Currently sitting seventh in the NWSL table, Gotham FC will aim to lock up a top-four finish and the chance to bring playoff soccer back to New Jersey for a second straight year.

Last season, Gotham made history by hosting its first-ever home playoff match, a thrilling 2-1 quarterfinal victory over the Portland Thorns before a club-record crowd of 15,540. U.S. internationals Tierna Davidson and Rose Lavelle delivered the goals in that memorable night at Sports Illustrated Stadium, giving Gotham its first home playoff win.
