HARRISON, NJ (Tuesday, October 15, 2024) - NJ/NY Gotham FC defenderJess Carter has been named to England’s roster for a pair of friendlies in October, it was announced today.
Since joining Gotham FC in July, Carter has started and played in eight regular-season games, recording 673 minutes and 35 duels won. The defender made her club debut in the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup semi-final against Angel City on Aug. 6.
On the international stage, Carter has earned 36 caps for the Lionesses since making her debut in 2017. She was a part of the squad that made history and won the 2022 UEFA Women's Euro. Additionally, Carter was a key member of the 2023 FIFA World Cup squad that finished as runner-ups, in which she played and started in six matches.
The Lionesses will be facing Germany on Oct. 25 and South Africa on Oct. 29.
Gotham FC will play in its final group stage game of the Concacaf W Champions Cup on Wednesday against Tigres UANL Femenil at Red Bull Arena.
