JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Aug. 4, 2026) - Gotham FC has loaned forward Mak Whitham to DC Power FC of the Gainbridge Super League through the end of the 2026 calendar year, the club announced Tuesday.
Whitham, who recently celebrated her 16th birthday, is the youngest player to appear in a NWSL regular season match. She made her league debut on March 16, 2025, at 14 years, 7 months old.
Whitham has made seven appearances in regular season play for Gotham FC, including one this season. She has represented the U.S. Youth National Team at the U-15 and U-17 levels.
Whitham was the first to join Gotham FC by way of the NWSL’s U-18 Entry Mechanism, which has been expanded to include additional provisions around pediatric medical evaluations, facilities and safety assessments and a commitment to establishing long-term development plans for U-18 players entering the league. Gotham FC and the NWSL worked with DC Power and the USL to ensure the same U-18 standards would apply during Whitham's loan spell in Washington.
Whitham remains under contract with Gotham FC through the 2028 season.
