Gotham FC’s Rose Lavelle Named to NWSL Best XI of the Month for September

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Oct. 3, 2025) - Rose Lavelle is heating up at just the right time. After a standout run of games over the past month, the Gotham FC midfielder has been named to the NWSL Best XI of the Month for September, presented by Amazon Prime, the league announced Friday.

It’s Lavelle’s first Best XI honor of 2025 — and her first since late last season — and it comes after a red-hot September run.

Lavelle played a starring role in Gotham’s undefeated month, going 5-0-1 across all competitions. She scored her first goal of the season on Sept. 7 against Angel City FC before adding another clutch strike at Bay FC on Sept. 21.

She saved her best for Portland, delivering a goal and an assist in Gotham’s most recent league match — the first time in her NWSL career she’s notched both in a regular-season game. With three goals in her last four league matches and five goal contributions in her last five, Lavelle is finding top form at the perfect time.
