Six Gotham FC Players Called Up for October FIFA International Window

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Sept. 30, 2026) – Gotham FC will have six players representing their countries during the upcoming FIFA international window, including four who will compete in 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying playoffs.

Defenders Jess Carter (England) and Bruninha (Brazil), winger Guro Reiten (Norway), midfielders Denise O’Sullivan (Ireland) and Talia Sommer (Israel) and forward Sam Kerr (Australia) have each earned senior national team call-ups.

The latest selections raise Gotham FC’s international contingent to 11 players, with five members of the club previously called up by the United States at the senior and U-23 levels.

Reiten and Norway will face Romania in a two-legged UEFA World Cup qualifying playoff after finishing second in their League A group. Norway will travel to Romania for the opening leg on Oct. 9 before hosting the return fixture on Oct. 13.

O’Sullivan and Ireland will take on Kazakhstan in their World Cup qualifying playoff, opening the two-legged series on the road Oct. 9 before returning home for the second leg Oct. 13.

Carter and England will face Greece in their World Cup qualifying playoff. The reigning European champions will travel to Greece for the opening leg Oct. 9 before hosting the second leg Oct. 13.

Sommer and Israel will compete in the UEFA World Cup qualifying playoffs for the first time, facing Switzerland in a two-legged series for a chance to advance to the next round of qualifying. Israel will host Switzerland on Oct. 9 before traveling for the second leg on Oct. 13.

Bruninha and Brazil will renew their South American rivalry with Argentina for a pair of matches on home soil. Brazil will host Argentina on Oct. 10 and again on Oct. 13.

Kerr and Australia will travel to Europe for a pair of friendlies, beginning against Germany in Germany on Oct. 9. The Matildas will then travel to France to face Haiti on Oct. 13.
