Gotham FC goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger named to Germany’s Roster for October Friendlies

HARRISON, NJ (Tuesday, October 15, 2024) - NJ/NY Gotham FC goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger has been named to Germany’s roster for a pair of October friendlies, it was announced today. 

With Gotham FC, Berger has started and played in 20 games this regular-season, recording 1,8000 minutes, a save percentage of 82.1% and eight clean sheets. She was also named to the league’s Best XI, presented by Prime for the month of May and earned Save of the Week honors in Week 19. 

This summer, Berger earned her first Olympic call up with Germany, and led her team to winning bronze in Paris. In the quarter-finals of the tournament, she saved two penalty kicks and scored the winning penalty against Canada. Then, in the bronze medal match, she made another crucial save on a penalty in stoppage time against Spain to secure bronze for her team.

Germany will play the Lionesses on Oct. 25 and then will face Australia on Oct. 28. 

Gotham FC will play in its final group stage game of the Concacaf W Champions Cup on Wednesday against Tigres UANL Femenil at Red Bull Arena.
