Posted a 0.876 goals-against average — the 13th-lowest in NWSL history among eligible keepers — and allowed only four goals from outside the box. Led all NWSL goalkeepers with 33 clearances/punches and accounted for all four headed clearances by a goalkeeper this season. Committed zero errors leading to goals (per Opta), won possession 69 times (most among NWSL goalkeepers by a wide margin) and finished tied for the most dribbles past an opponent by a goalkeeper (3).
2024 (Gotham FC): Started and played in 22 matches, recording 67 saves with an 80.72% save percentage, the second-best in club history. Posted a club-record 0.727 goals-against average and registered eight clean sheets. Named the 2024 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year and selected to the NWSL Best XI.
2023–24 (Chelsea FC): Made five starts in the 2023–24 WSL season, recording 14 saves and two clean sheets with a 4–1–0 record.
2022–23 (Chelsea FC): Made 15 appearances, logging 1,350 minutes, recording 33 saves and keeping eight clean sheets, contributing to Chelsea’s fourth consecutive WSL title.
2021–22 (Chelsea FC): Appeared in 14 WSL matches, registering 24 saves and eight shutouts.
2020–21 (Chelsea FC): Made 17 starts, recording 24 saves and 12 clean sheets, winning the Golden Glove and helping Chelsea secure the WSL title on the final day.
2019–20 (Chelsea FC): In her first full season with Chelsea, played 13 matches, made 44 saves and logged 1,170 minutes.
2018–19 (Chelsea FC / Birmingham City): Transferred to Chelsea midseason from Birmingham City. With Birmingham City, made eight appearances, recording 26 saves and six shutouts.
2017–18 (Birmingham City): Played 14 matches, recording seven shutouts and finishing with a 7–4–3 record.

Berger has been a steady presence for Germany since her first call-up in 2018, making her national team debut on Dec. 1, 2020, in a UEFA Women’s Euro qualifying match against the Republic of Ireland. She was part of the German squad that finished as runner-up at the UEFA Women’s Euro in 2022 and was named to the roster for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. In 2024, she starred at the Summer Olympics, starting all six matches and delivering two consecutive penalty saves in the quarterfinal against Canada before keeping a clean sheet in the bronze-medal match against Spain. In 2025, she again featured prominently for Germany at the UEFA Women’s Euro, producing standout performances throughout the tournament, including a remarkable save against France in the quarterfinals.
