Michelle Betos, a Queens, N.Y., native, starred at St. Francis Prep before attending the University of Georgia, where she graduated with a degree in psychology. She played professionally from 2010–24, spending the majority of her career in the NWSL while also competing in Australia, Norway, Denmark and Cyprus.

Betos won the NWSL Shield with the Portland Thorns in 2016 and the NWSL championship with Gotham FC in 2023. Following her retirement in 2024, she joined Gotham FC as assistant goalkeeper coach while completing her certification as a Mental Performance Coach. In her role, Betos contributes to goalkeeper development as well as the club’s overall cultural growth. Her focus centers on helping players pursue meaningful improvement — individually and collectively — a process she cites as the most rewarding part of her career.
