Gotham FC Opens September Road Stretch Against Denver Summit FC

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (Sept. 4, 2026) - Gotham FC is in Colorado this weekend to visit Denver Summit FC for the first time as the NWSL-leading club begins a three-match road stretch.

Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET Sunday at Centennial Stadium, with CBS carrying the national broadcast.

Gotham FC (13-3-6, 45 points) enters Sunday following a 1-1 draw against the Portland Thorns on Friday at Sports Illustrated Stadium. Midfielder Jaedyn Shaw scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season with a long-range strike in the 60th minute before Portland equalized from the penalty spot 15 minutes later.

The result extended Gotham’s unbeaten run to a club-record 10 consecutive matches, continuing a stretch without a loss dating back to July 4. Gotham enters the weekend with a five-point lead at the top of the NWSL table and is also unbeaten in its last 12 league matches when scoring first.

Denver (7-8-6, 27 points) enters the weekend in 10th place, four points behind eighth-place Seattle and the final playoff position. The expansion side returns to action following a 6-1 victory over Chicago Stars FC at Centennial Stadium, a performance that set a franchise record for goals in a match behind a brace from Melissa Kössler and goals from Janine Sonis, Yuzuki Yamamoto, Tash Flint and Olivia Thomas.

Sunday’s match marks just the second meeting between Gotham FC and Denver and Gotham’s first trip to Centennial Stadium during the Summit’s inaugural season. Denver won the first meeting 2-0 on March 25 at Sports Illustrated Stadium, with Kössler and Flint scoring second-half goals.

Following Sunday’s match, Gotham FC will continue its three-match road stretch Friday, Sept. 11, against Racing Louisville FC at Lynn Family Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET, with NWSL+ carrying the match.
