Gotham FC’s Davidson, Berger Named to NWSL Best XI of the Month for October/November

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Nov. 6, 2026) – Gotham FC defender Tierna Davidson and goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger have been named to the NWSL Best XI of the Month for October and November, presented by Amazon Prime, the league announced Friday.

The duo played pivotal roles in Gotham FC's historic run to its first NWSL Shield, awarded to the team that finishes first at the end of the regular season. Gotham FC secured crucial victories on the road against the Orlando Pride and at home against the Utah Royals to clinch the club’s fifth major trophy in three years.

Berger delivered a standout stretch in goal, recording 18 saves – tied for the league lead – and one shutout across four matches. The German international conceded just three goals despite facing 51 shots and an expected goals allowed total of 6.39, producing the largest gap between expected and actual goals conceded in the NWSL during the period.

Davidson anchored Gotham FC's back line while making significant contributions in possession, ranking second in the league in passes (307) and completed passes (273) and third in touches (356). The club captain also recorded 19 clearances, tied for seventh in the NWSL, and scored the game-winning goal in Gotham FC's crucial road victory over Orlando.

Both players started all four matches during the October-November period, logging 360 minutes apiece as Gotham FC prepares to defend its NWSL Championship.

Gotham FC opens its NWSL Championship defense Sunday, hosting Seattle Reign FC in the quarterfinals at Sports Illustrated Stadium. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on ABC and ESPN Deportes and streaming on the ESPN App for unlimited subscribers. To purchase tickets, click here.
