Gotham FC's Juan Carlos Amorós Named NWSL Coach of the Month for October/November

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Nov. 5, 2026) – Gotham FC coach Juan Carlos Amorós has been named NWSL Coach of the Month for October/November, the league announced Thursday, following a strong finish to the regular season that saw Gotham FC secure its first-ever NWSL Shield.

The honor marks Amorós' first NWSL Coach of the Month award since taking charge of Gotham FC.

Amorós guided Gotham FC to a 2-1-1 record across four matches in October and November, earning seven points to maintain the club's position atop the NWSL standings and secure the Shield, awarded to the team with the most points at the conclusion of the regular season.

Gotham FC closed the campaign with back-to-back victories over the Orlando Pride and Utah Royals FC to clinch the historic achievement. Under Amorós, Gotham FC conceded just three goals across its final four matches while scoring multiple goals in two of those contests.

With the Shield secured, Gotham FC enters the 2026 NWSL Playoffs as the top seed, looking to capture its third NWSL Championship in four seasons.

Gotham FC begins its title defense Sunday against Seattle Reign FC in the club’s NWSL Playoff quarterfinal match, with kickoff set for 12:30 p.m. ET. The match will air on ABC and ESPN Deportes and stream on the ESPN App for unlimited subscribers. To purchase tickets, click here.
