Gotham FC Looks to Bounce Back Friday at Racing Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 10, 2026) - Gotham FC aims to quickly bounce back from its first regular season loss in more than two months when it faces Racing Louisville FC on Friday at Lynn Family Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET Friday, with NWSL+ streaming the match. For more details on how to find NWSL+, visit here.

Gotham FC (13-4-6, 45 points) enters the match following a 3-0 loss at Denver Summit FC on Sunday, snapping the club’s record-setting 10-match regular season unbeaten streak. After a scoreless first half, Denver scored three times in the final 45 minutes to hand Gotham its first regular season defeat since July 4. Despite the result, Gotham remains first in the NWSL standings, holding a two-point advantage over the second-place Washington Spirit.

Racing Louisville (7-14-2, 23 points) returns to action following a 2-0 home loss to Angel City FC on Saturday, its third consecutive defeat. Racing sits 13th in the NWSL standings and 11 points behind eighth-place Seattle Reign FC for the final playoff position. Louisville had been one of the league’s hottest teams in August, winning four consecutive matches before its current three-match losing streak.

Friday’s match marks the second meeting between Gotham FC and Racing Louisville this season and the 14th all-time meeting between the clubs. The series is deadlocked, with each side earning three wins and the remaining seven matches ending in draws.

Gotham earned a 1-0 victory in the first meeting this season on May 3 at Sports Illustrated Stadium, with Jaedyn Shaw scoring the game-winner in the 16th minute off an assist from Jordynn Dudley. Gotham has lost just once in its last six meetings with Louisville.

Following Friday’s match, Gotham FC will wrap up its three-match road trip in Cary, North Carolina, against the North Carolina Courage at First Horizon Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on ION.
