HARRISON, NJ (Thursday, October 24, 2024) –. NJ/NY Gotham FC will face the Kansas City Current in the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup Final on Friday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. ET in San Antonio, Texas (CBS Sports, Paramount+).

Gotham FC has been a defensive force throughout the tournament, not conceding a goal throughout the entire tournament. In its last tournament match, the club defeated Angel City FC 1-0 with the decisive goal coming from midfielder Delanie Sheehan in the 48th minute. 

The team is also looking to continue its 11-game unbeaten streak across all competitions. Gotham FC has not dropped a game since Sept. 1 against the Orlando Pride

Kansas City's most recent tournament match ended in a 2-0 victory over the North Carolina Courage. Forward Temwa Chawinga opened the scoring just two minutes in, followed by a goal from midfielder Debinha, securing the win.

In NWSL regular season play, both teams have secured playoff spots. Gotham FC recently clinched a home playoff game at Red Bull Arena Sun. November 10th, with the opponent to be determined. 

In the standings, Gotham FC sits third in the league, with the Current close behind at four. 

The last time the two clubs faced off was Sept. 28, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
