2025 (Gotham FC): Became the first player to win the European Championship and NWSL Championship in the same calendar year. Appeared and started in 23 regular-season matches for Gotham FC and started all three postseason matches, earning her first NWSL title.
2024 (Gotham FC): Joined Gotham FC in July from Chelsea FC, starting all 10 regular-season matches she appeared in and logging 853 minutes. Won 62.5% of her duels and 66.7% of her aerial duels, adding 20 interceptions and 21 clearances.
2023–24 (Chelsea FC): Featured in 21 matches, starting 19 and totaling 1,723 minutes. Recorded one assist, 12 interceptions and a team-leading 61 clearances, helping Chelsea secure a fifth consecutive WSL title.
2022–23 (Chelsea FC): Made 17 appearances, scoring two goals and recording one assist. Added 23 interceptions and 34 clearances, contributing to another WSL title.
2021–22 (Chelsea FC): Appeared in 21 league matches, registering one assist and logging 1,685 minutes. Recorded 34 interceptions and 48 clearances, helping Chelsea win another league title.
2020–21 (Chelsea FC): Made nine appearances, including three starts, and recorded one assist. Helped Chelsea complete a domestic treble (WSL, FA Cup and League Cup).
2019–20 (Chelsea FC): Scored her first goal for Chelsea in a 6–1 win over Bristol City and added one assist, six interceptions and 10 clearances in 324 minutes.
2018–19 (Chelsea FC): In her first season with Chelsea, made 13 appearances (eight starts), recording one assist, seven interceptions and 12 clearances.
2013–18 (Birmingham City): Began her professional career with Birmingham City, making her debut at age 16 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinal.
Carter received her first senior call-up to the England Women’s National Team in 2017 during the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying stages. She made her debut in a 5-0 win over Kazakhstan, coming off the bench. Carter was part of the England squad that won the inaugural Arnold Clark Cup and the UEFA Euro Championship in 2022, and she started in five of six matches at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, helping England reach the final. In July 2025, Carter and the Lionesses won the UEFA Women's Euros, defeating Spain on penalties in the final.
