HARRISON, NJ (Friday, May 3, 2024) – NJ/NY Gotham FC will play the North Carolina Courage for the second and final time this season on Saturday, May 4 at Red Bull Arena (7:30 p.m. ET, Ion). Gotham FC is looking for its first victory at home this season before back-to-back road games.

The two sides first met this season on March 30 at WakeMed Soccer Park in North Carolina in just Gotham FC’s third match of the regular season. Despite falling 1-0 to the Courage, Gotham FC controlled the offensive opportunities, leading 15-6 in shots, 7-2 in corner kicks, and 27-10 in crosses in the match.

More recently, Gotham FC played Racing Louisville to a 1-1 draw at Red Bull Arena on Sunday, April 28. After going down a goal in stoppage time, Gotham FC debutant Rose Lavelle helped rescue a point for her team in the closing moments of the match. Louisville miscleared the ball in the box, and forward Ella Stevens was able to toe poke the ball to Lavelle, who quickly placed her shot into the back of the net.

North Carolina sits fourth in the standings with a record of 4-3-0 (12 points), with all of the team’s wins occurring at home. The Courage are coming off a 4-1 loss to an undefeated Orlando Pride on Wednesday night.
